Melbourne's Ornamental Plaster Specialists
Specialists in plastering,
experts in craftsmanship.
The name Melbourne's builders and architects call for ornamental cornice, ceiling roses and the detail other trades leave out — and the broader craft, held to the same standard.
The plasterers Melbourne calls when the detail has to be right.
Plaster is the difference between a built house and a finished one. For more than fifteen years, builders, architects and homeowners have trusted us with the ornamental work most trades no longer attempt — and the standard we hold by hand has become the one others are measured against.
Four disciplines. One standard.
Rosettes, ceiling roses, decorative archways, strapping and every cornice profile — run and fitted by hand. The work we are known for.
Heritage cornice and ceiling detail matched to the original profile, and tired lath-and-plaster made sound — for Victorian and Edwardian homes.
Flush, dead-flat walls and square-set ceilings for new builds and extensions. The quiet groundwork beneath a faultless room.
Acrylic and cement render, ruled flat and finished fine — exteriors built for Melbourne weather.

Across Melbourne.
From inner-city terraces to new builds further out. If the walls and ceilings matter, we will travel for them.
Why Melbourne specifies us by name.
Ornamental first
Cornice, roses, archways and strapping are not a sideline. They are what we are known for, and what we do best.
Owned & run by us
The same family for over fifteen years. You deal with the people who do the work, start to finish.
By hand, in honest light
Every surface is worked and read by hand. We hold a light flat to the wall before you ever see it.
Satisfaction, guaranteed
We are not finished until you are happy with the result. That keeps our customers, and their referrals, coming back.

See the finish before a trowel touches the wall.
A photograph cannot tell you how a finish will sit in your light. We prepare physical samples of the profiles and surfaces you are weighing up, so the choice is made by hand and eye.

Four disciplines. One standard.
Plaster is not one trade but several. These are the four we have made our own — led, as always, by ornamental work.

The detail overhead
Ceiling roses, run cornice, decorative archways and strapping, made and fitted by hand. We match an existing profile or run something new — the flourish that turns a room into a space people remember. It is the work we are known for.

The original profile, returned
Heritage cornice and ceiling detail matched to what was there, and lath-and-plaster repair for Victorian and Edwardian homes. Old work made sound, and invisible where it meets the new.

Flatness as groundwork
Hard, flush walls and square-set ceilings for new builds and extensions, with crisp arrises and clean shadow lines. The finish a good room is quietly built on.

Exteriors that hold their line
Acrylic and cement render, ruled flat and finished fine, built for Melbourne's weather. The first wall a visitor sees should be the best on the street.
Work we put our name to.
The disciplines we are asked for most, across Melbourne — from ornamental ceilings to flush new-build walls.

How the work is done.
Every job moves through the same steps — because a finish is only as good as the stage nobody photographs.
Site & assessment
We look at what is behind the wall before promising what goes in front of it — the substrate, the movement, the profiles to match.
Set-out & samples
Levels, junctions and shadow lines agreed on site. For decorative work, samples approved in your light.
First coat
The structural coat — straight, square and sound. Rushed here, it shows forever. So it is not rushed.
Detail & ornament
Surfaces brought to line, arrises crisped, cornice run and roses fitted. The room begins to look like ours.
Checked in raking light
Every surface read with a light held flat against it — the hardest test a finish can face, applied before you ever do.
Finish & handover
Final finish, a clean site, and a simple promise: we are not done until you are happy with it.
A trade kept honest.

Victorian Plaster Group
Plastering used to be the trade that turned a built house into a finished home. Ornamental ceilings, run cornice, a rose above the light. Much of that craft has thinned out. We have spent over fifteen years keeping it.
We are family owned and operated, and ornamental specialists first — rosettes, decorative archways, strapping and every cornice profile. We carry that same standard through restoration, set plaster for new builds and extensions, and render.
You deal with the family that does the work. We turn up when we say we will, we finish what we start, and we are not done until you are satisfied. Specialists in plastering, experts in craftsmanship.
Tell us about your walls and ceilings.
Send the essentials and we will come back to you, usually within a business day or two — most often with a site visit and a written quote.
